11 and 13 year old brothers to become India’s youngest MBAs

Neel Joshi, 13 and his brother Deep, 11, class eight and class six students of Thakur Vidya Mandir School at Kandivali East in Mumbai are on their way to become India's youngest MBA graduates as they have finished their first semester MBA with distinction from an institute affiliated to a U.S. varsity. The teen prodigies are pursuing their MBA from the Indian Management School and Research centre (IMSR) affiliated to the University of Northeast Virginia, reports Bangalore Mirror.

While Neel has cleared his first year in Finance Management with 91 percent, Deep has cleared the first semester of MBA in Operation Management by securing 75 percent.

It was a meeting with the representative of IMSR at an education fair, which helped them realize their dreams. "I had taken a risk in admitting the boys against all rules," admits Pravin Parmar, director, IMSR. "They have both scored very good marks and I am confident they will become the youngest MBAs in the country," he added.

"We had sought admission for MBA courses at the University of Mumbai and various other institutes in USA and UK. But everyone turned us down saying we were too young to enroll for management courses. They also told us we must approach them after post-graduation and gaining three years of working experience," says Neel.

Deep said, "I joined the institute but never worried about the results. I only aimed at studying management. My brother and I dream of getting a prize from President Pratibha Patil after we complete the course. I am also preparing for my MBA first year final exam which is scheduled in January."

The boys had exhibited extraordinary talents at their very young age. They could recite entire chapters from the Bhagvad Gita, Hanuman Chalisa and even the Rig Veda when they were in kindergarten. They have also shown their excellence in extracurricular activities such as carom in which they represent Air India at national level events. Neel wants to become a cardiac surgeon, while Deep wishes to be a pilot. The boys' father Ajit Joshi is a civil engineer.

Technopark, India’s first & now the single largest information technology park, is celebrating 20 years of its inspiring, successful existence. IBM and Oracle eye Technopark as next destination

Global IT majors IBM and Oracle are planning to set up units at the Technopark, official sources said.

An official of the state IT department said the two companies had begun exploratory talks to set up shop at the technology park.

"We feel that this endeavour by these IT companies is part of their strategy to move into tier-II (smaller)cities in the country and they are seriously considering Technopark. We feel positive about their efforts and if this happens then it would be a major boost to the industry in the state," said the official, who did not wish to be identified.

Technopark began operations in the late nineties and is now home to 185 IT companies, including Infosys and TCS, which employ more than 30,000 people.

"IBM and Oracle are looking to have units which would employ more than 4,000 employees. This would give a huge boost to our efforts to make Kerala as the fastest growing IT destination in the country," said the official.

Epic (web browser)

Epic is a modern web browser based on Mozilla Firefox developed by Hidden Reflex specifically customized to the taste of Indian users. Similar to Flock, the browser has several preinstalled widgets such as social networking, chat clients and email facilities integrated into the browser. It is dubbed as the first web browser from India and also features the first integrated virus protection in a browser powered by ESET.

Epic is available as a free download which currently supports Microsoft Windows platform.

History

Epic was released on 15th July 2010. It is developed by Hidden Reflex, a software company founded by Alok Bharadwaj in 2008 which is based on Bangalore, India.

Features

Epic was designed specifically for Indian users. It is bundled with lots of apps like a transliterator for Indian scripts, a web snippet tool, timer, to do list, a full featured text editor, games, Google maps, clients for chatting, social networking such as orkut, facebook and twitter, email apps, and several other installable web apps. It features a huge collection of themes and wall papers featuring subjects related to India. Epic is claimed to be the first web browser featuring built in antivirus and anti phishing protection. Epic is currently available for Windows, though Linux and Mac versions are also expected.

Epic claims there are 1500 free applications that will work with the browser, as well as many themes and wallpapers.

Epic currently supports 12 Indian languages including Hindi, Bangla, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Sanskrit, Nepali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Urdu. There's additional transliteration support for Arabic, Farsi/Pesian, Russian, and Greek. The Epic browser is expected to be a big hit among the Indian users.

The logo of Epic browser denotes the Indian tricolor flag (Saffron, White and Green) enveloping a sphere (the earth) in a tree like fashion. The browser also emcompasses numerous Indian wallpapers and themes.

At 22, Patna boy becomes youngest IIT Professor

Dr. Tathagat Avatar Tulsi, a Patna-born child prodigy, becomes the youngest professor at Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay at the age of 22. He is set to join as an assistant professor in the Department of Physics from next week.

He had completed his high school at the age of nine, earned his BSc degree at 10 and M.Sc at the age of 12. At the age of 21, Tulsi completed his doctorate in Quantum Computing from Indian Institute of Science.

The young professor, who has never studied in a classroom, plans to ask his students how they would want to be taught. "I have never taught in a class. But I believe I can come down to the level of a student and help them understand the subject," he said. When asked about his future plans, he said "I want to pursue my research and at IIT-B, I will have the leisure to continue my research and one day set up a lab focused on quantum computation in our country."

Dr. Tulsi had to turn down offers from Waterloo University in Canada and the Indian Institute of Science Education & Research (IISER), Bhopal to come and teach at IIT-B.

In 2003, the prestigious Time magazine named him among the world's seven most gifted youngsters, though he went into a shell after an international delegation called him a fake prodigy in 2001. Tulsi said he is going to write to the Limca Book of Records to include him as the youngest faculty member in the country.

10 Songs for a Romantic Afternoon

I don’t know about you, but I always maintain that rains bring forth a season of love and romance. And what do you do when you and your favourite squeeze are stuck at home on a rainy day? Bring on the romance I say. And what better way to fall in love again, than to listen to some wonderful love songs.

Maybe someday I will write a post on music of the ’80s, because according to me, there is nothing better than music of the ’80s. This 1985 superhit by Bryan Ferry is a classic love song. Check it out.

What love song playlist is complete without the soulful and yet rocking Jon Bon Jovi doing what he does best? Thank you for loving me, is one of his lesser known hits, but beautiful nevertheless.

In today’s web development scenario, it is very necessary for a web developer to know how to code in PHP. PHP has become a major language in web development industry in last few years. From WordPress to FaceBook everything is coded in PHP language.
